Live Tweets: Florida at SEC Championships (3/18/23)
It's been a LONG day of watching championships, but here it is: @GatorsGym @ SEC Championships The overall broadcast will be on SEC Network, but on SEC Network+ you can find each of the event streams and I will be mostly following the Gators there.
The Gators will start on vault and we will cross our fingers for calm landings and sticks.
Richards VT: I truly could not tell you at all what the vault looked like because all I could see was Adrian's back. 9.825
Wong VT: Maybe a good landing with a small hop. This is the SEC Championship, we should be able to see vault landings.
Blakely VT: Nearly stuck 1.5!!
DiCello VT: 1.5 with big hop.
Thomas VT: Massive 1.5 with a step forward.
Clark VT: Full, no idea how the landing was because #Adrian
Made it through vault without a score below 9.8! We certainly could have had more sticks, but a good start to settle in and keep things normal.
Bars Lineup: Blakely, Nguyen, DiCello, Thomas, Wong, McCusker
Our lowest scoring event out of the way and time for our best!
After one:
Kentucky (Floor) - 49.400
Florida (Vault) and Alabama (Beam) - 49.375
LSU (Bars) - 49.325
Blakely UB: Good handstand, nice maloney to pak - legs together, good pirouette, nice handstand, stuck double front. Great start. 9.900.
Nguyen UB: good handstand, nice Maloney to pak a little leg sep, great pirouette, stuck double lay (I think it was). 9.95.
DiCello UB: great handstand, huge ray, beautiful pak, great VL, legs glue, a little arch on the handstand, small hop on the full twisting double tuck. 9.900. Well lol.
Thomas UB: Beautiful handstand, really nice Maloney to pak with legs together, beautiful Vl, STUCK SOLID DLO. Possibly her best this year. Wow. 10.0 10.0 10.0 totally deserved from what I saw.
Wong UB: beautiful handstand, great Maloney to pak, nice handstand, great VL, a little archy on the handstand, low on the DLO and sort of finessed into a salute with a step. 9.950. WHAT.
McCusker UB: Beautiful handstand, gorgeous maloney to pak, beautiful VL, nice stalder, step forward on the double tuck. Another good one for her! 9.900.
Some BEAUTIFUL routines in that lineup, but some of those scores were a choice. Blakely, Nguyen, Thomas really did some of their best work of the season.
I'm not watching the other rotations much so I couldn't say how much the judges are also falling asleep for other teams lol.

Beam Lineup: Blakely, Lazzari, DiCello, Thomas, Wong, McCusker
Blakely BB: Solid front aerial to bhs series. Stumbles after her switch side but stays on - should be a decent deduction. good full turn. Side somi good. stuck gainer full. 9.800.
Lazzari BB: COME ON ELLIE YOU GOT THIS. Beautiful triple series. Gorgeous leaps. Nice front aerial. Good full turn. Stuck gainer with a lean forward. My bias is showing lmao, I just love Ellie's beam work. 9.925.

Through Three:
Florida (VT, UB, BB) - 148.750
Bama (BB, FX, VT) - 148.450
Kentucky (FX, VT, UB) - 148.325
LSU (UB, BB, FX) - 148.300
Event leader after 3:
VT: 9.95 (Blakely, Gladieux, Stevens, Moore)
UB: 10.0 (Thomas)
BB: 9.975 (Wong)
FX: 9.95 (Hudson, Finnegan, Bryant)
Floor Lineup: Nguyen, Baumann, Richards, Wong, Thomas, DiCello
Nguyen FX: Controls the double full fairly well, I couldn't tell how the shape was on the sissone from the camera angle. Great leap series. Beautiful combo pass. Stunning, so happy she is back and so happy she is a Gator. 9.900. Super proud of her performance today.
Baumann FX: Clean double wolf. Beautiful front 1.5 to front full, very well controlled. I love the Skaggs inspired hair. Perfect straddle leaps. Great double pike, jumps to lunge. One of her best all year. 9.925.
Richards FX: Well controlled double lay. That skill is really much cleaner this year. 1.5 to front full - very clean. She has improved so much on floor this season. Great routine for Payton. 9.900.
Wong FX: Dos Santos, a little under rotated and steps back no stag jump. Does the double popa leaps for the bonus she needs. Also a little low her on her front lay. A little messy for her but she keeps it on her feet. Should take her out of the AA though.
Thomas FX: Beautiful double layout, well controlled. Nice control on her leaps as well. Beautiful combo pass with a step forward. That should do it for both her and the Gators. It's another 10.0 for Thomas!
DiCello FX: Putting an exclamation point on a great night for the Gators. Better front double full with the step not as much across. Nice leaps. Beautiful combo pass, her layout had great elevation. What a good first SECs for her. She should be the SEC Freshman of the Year. 9.950.
