Live Tweets: Florida at Regional Semi Finals (3/31/23)

LIVE from Pittsburgh, it’s @GatorsGym time.

Here we go! The Gators are running out in the arena, we are a few minutes away from getting started. Tonight, the Gators are joined by Brooke Donabedian (Temple) on floor and Grace Vaillancourt (Towson) on bars.

The cheers for Trinity were deafening. The Pennsylvania native is competing less than 4 hours from her hometown.

Things will be pretty chaotic here, but I am really excited to see a lot of the other athletes so I will try to bring you some bonus athlete coverage when Florida isn't actively competing.

Florida is in all blue and it looks beautiful from up here.

The Gators start on beam!

Blakely, Lazzari, DiCello, Thomas, Wong, and McCusker is the announced lineup.

Blakely BB: Series was good but then an arm swing and a wobble. Leap series good, but a little slow on the connection between her switch half and beat jump. Stuck gainer full. Not her cleanest but a solid start. 9.875.

Lazzari BB: Nice triple series. Well controlled. Beautiful 180 leaps. Good front aerial. Clean full turn. Cartwheel gainer full, small hop back. Excellent until the hop. 9.900.

DiCello BB: Good candle mount. Nice double wolf turn. Clean leaps at 180. Perfect series, really well done. Lovely front aerial. Back handspring gainer full, stuck. Stunning. 9.95.

Penn State's Piedrahita just slayed her vault. STUCK COLD.

Thomas BB: Good leap mount to split leap. Good full turn. Beautiful and dynamic 1 arm bhs to loso. Mixed series, clean as always. Side aerial to 1.5 with a small hop back. No front aerial to two feet today. Everything on the beam looked great. 9.900.

Wong BB: Switch leap straight leap good. Series, lands with one arm up to keep straight - no wobble. Front aerial to beat, good. Double full with a big arm swing and a sort of step across. 9.85.

McCusker BB: Good double wolf. Gorgeous from aerial. A tiny lean on the series, but idk if you could see it if you aren't at my angle. STUNNING LEAPS. Stuck gainer full. Beautiful and Jenny gives her a massive hug. 9.95.

I will want to go back and watch all of Isabella Minervini's bars because she just got a 9.95 and what I saw was gorgeous.

Florida Beam: 49.575 in Rotation 1.

Announced Floor Lineup: Nguyen, Baumann, Richards, Wong, Thomas, and DiCello + Temple's Donabedian.

Nguyen FX: I just love her opening dance sequence. Well controlled double full to sissone. Switch ring to switch half, lovely. Great Y-turn. Front full to lay - good. BEAUTIFUL. Honestly, that might be my favorite floor routine this year. 9.925.

Baumann FX: Wolf turn with some choreographic arm swings lol. 1.5 to front full well controlled into the arabesque. OMG HER STRADDLE LEAPS. Double pike and a little stumble back, the judge threw a hand but the line judge didn't... Looked out from up here but she did have a mat. 9.700.

Richards FX: Double lay, a tiny bit low and jumps into the lunge - covered well. Nice 1.5 to front full. 9.900.

Wong FX: Dos Santos to the stag today - a tiny bit low but she works through it really well. Gorgeous leaps. BEAUTIFUL combo pass this week, super solid landing. One of her better routines this year.

Thomas FX: Beautiful double lay, well controlled lunge. She just stopped and is walking off.

Trin is in the back and Kayla is still waiting to go.

DiCello FX: Front double full with a little messy landing. Great leaps. Good double wolf. Beautiful 1.5 front lay. So good for her after waiting so long.

Gators warming up for vault with Bre and Chloi. Bri just stuck a full.

Wong VT: good pod with a hop back. 9.850.

Richards VT: Basically stuck 1.5 with a little lean. 9.900.

Blakely VT: Big 1.5 with a hop forward.

DiCello VT: 1.5 looked stuck with her heels pulled together. Her best vault so far. 9.950.

Edwards VT: Good full with a small hop. 9.850.

Clark VT: Small hop in place and a little chest on her full. 9.750.

Emma Silberman is really fun to watch on floor. Her routine is really cute and she gets into it a ton. I like that she accentuates her lunges.

I have seen Reese McClure's floor a lot this season and every time it make me smile. I hope we hear that she's coming back for a 5th year.

I have rotated to a different spot in the arena so I can see bars lol. As expected Trinity is not warming up, Payton is warming up.
