Live Tweets: Florida at Oklahoma (3/4/23)

Here. We. Go. The No. 2 Gators @ the No. 1 Sooners.

Wow that Dani Sievers vault to start things off. Fantastic.

Blakely UB: Nice maloney to pak, great piroutte. Stuck double tuck. Great. 9.925.

Nguyen UB: Lovely maloney to pak with a little leg separation. Great handstand. Stuck double lay to slide her heels together. Yes, girl! 9.875.

Landings or not, these OU vaults are fire. Super impressive. I love to see great performed gymnastics.

DiCello UB: Beautiful Ray. Good Pak. Lovely VL. Small step on the landing, but gorgeous. 9.850.

Trautman's vault. Wow. So good.

Thomas UB: Gorgeous maloney to pak, beautiful VL. Perfect stuck DLO. 9.975.

Wong UB: Beautiful handstand, maloney to pak tiny feet sep. Lovely VL. College stick on a really beautiful DLO. 9.90.

McCusker UB: A little wiggle on the first handstand, very aggressive, her maloney to pak is gorgeous. Such a nice VL. Stalder to double tuck with a little balance. So nice for her again.

49.525 on bars. Honestly, not too upset about it for a high pressure away situation. But, likely not enough to keep pace with this fantastic OU team.

Richards VT: 1.5. stuck. WOAH. 9.90.

Wong VT: Great pod, small hop. The extra mat is really helping her landing. 9.95.

Blakely VT: 1.5 with a big hop forward. 9.850.

DiCello VT: Great 1.5 small hop in place. Gorgeous. 9.950.

Lol when Kathy says nice pike on Ragan’s DLO.

Thomas VT: 1.5 with a step forward. Nice in the air. Lots of distance. 9.875.

49.525, are we about to see V do the 1.5??

Nguyen VT: Oh no. She just totally had her hands slip on the table and flips awkwardly over the vault. She is up and walking away. It looks like she just had the wind knocked out of her. Really sad for her because I was so excited to see her debut.

Jenny says that she thankfully okay and just got ahead of herself going for her first 1.5.

I am VERY happy with a 49.525 on vault. Showing good progressions from Payton, Kayla, and Leanne.

I wish they would take the camera off of the obviously upset V. I'm glad someone gave her a big hug.

I hope that she gets a lot of support in the gym this week and gets another go in the lineup next week if she feels up to it. Her vaults have looked so pretty in training and I want her to get another chance to come back and nail it.

Who is ready for chaos floor lineup? We are starting with... Leah Clapper?

Clapper FX: Rudi to loso right on to the line, would like to see more height. Straddle leaps are good. Full to front lay, I was super worried she wouldn't get the landing but she does. A little messy, but a hit! 9.750.

Brubach VT: Front lay to Rudi, not the cleanest landing a little foot movement. Much better control on a really nice double tuck. Solid for the freshman. Lori Brubach matches her career-high with a 9.850!

Baumann FX: Beautiful wolf turn. 1.5 to front full really clean. Lovely. The best straddle leaps. Double pike with a big bounce back OOB. Unfortunate because the rest was really lovely. 9.725.

Richards FX: Good DLO with a big step. Good straddle leaps. Back 1.5 to front full really good. A very strong routine for Pay, happy to have her in the lineup. 9.90.

Wong FX: Double arabian to the stag jump with a huge smile. Beautiful leap combination to clear stick. 1.5 to front full good with the step forward. Super proud. 9.95.

Hurd FX: Great first pass. I love how they commit to the dance. Nice ring leap. Double pike with a good landing but OOB.

LOL Ragan getting a 9.925 with the two balance checks. (not that I don't think some of the Florida scores were too high too, just can't pin point specific right now)

I really hope that Trinity and Kayla look real rested for postseason because taking both out (with Sloane and V) from this meet really just gave it away without even trying.

Blakely BB: Great front aerial to back handspring. Really beautiful leaps - would like to see more pointed toes on the switch half. Stuck gainer full. Excellent. 9.95.

Lazzari BB: Beautiful bhs loso loso. Gorgeous leaps, as always. Lovely front aerial. Pretty full turn. Cartwheel gainer full - A NEW DISMOUNT - stuck with a lean forward. Oh yes, I love the new dismount, she is going to be ready for postseason. 9.925.

DiCello BB: Lovely candle mount. Balance check on the wolf turn. Beautiful leaps. Balance check on her series. Front aerial. Really nice dismount. Good to see her fight through that. DiCello: 9.850. That is also a little gift lol.

Thomas BB: Switch leap mount doesn't go straight into the split leap. She does the switch leap to straight leap after. A little leg up balance correction on her series. Front aerial to two feet, small correction. Side aerial 1.5 to the college stick. 9.875 Oh, so that's how this is going to end lmao.

At this rate with scores, I'm thinking 10s for Leanne and Riley? *kidding*

Wong BB: Beautiful leap series. Perfect acro series. Perfect full turn. Excellent front aerial to beat jump. Almost stuck and has to hop to the side. Very nice. Leanne has really grown so much in her NCAA beam. 9.875.

McCusker BB: Lovely wolf turn. Beat jump to front aerial is too short and she has to come off. Perfect series. A little shoulder down between the leaps but keeps moving. Gainer full stuck. I hope we get to see that again next week because everything else was so lovely.

Florida finishes with a 197.7 which is surprising with the rough floor. Some really bright spots on bars, vault, and beam.

Detailed progress points:

Blakely UB: Showed another clean leadoff for 9.9+ and got the dismount.

McCusker UB: Another hit for her showing that she is a great choice for the 6th spot

Much more controlled landings from DiCello, Richards, and Wong - sticking or coming close.

Wong FX: Hit the Dos Santos to the stag comfortably.

Blakely BB: Near perfection in the lead off position, no wobbles and a stick.

Lazzari BB: A new dismount that I think she can stick. Her dismount was all that was holding her back - near perfection on the beam most weeks.

Individual Titles: VT: Trautman (10.0) UB: Thomas (9.975) BB: Blakely and Bowers (9.95) FX: Wong and Torrez (9.95) AA: Wong (39.675)
