Live Tweets: Florida vs. Alabama (1/20/23)

Here we go!! Florida vs. Alabama thread. I'm here with my mom and boyfriend and they are going to join in watching :)

Richards UB: leg separation on the maloney, double lay with a hop back and leg separation. 9.725.

Blakely UB: great handstand good maloney, and legs together on the pak, nice pirouette, nice handstands, STUCK double front. 9.775.

Payton seems right to me, Blakely's score makes me feel like I missed something. the only really thing I saw was the legs on the dismount.

Nguyen UB: Transitions with a little separation. Nice double lay to a stick. 9.900.

DiCello UB: Great Ray from this angle. Nice pak to the VL with legs together. Stuck FTDT. In the replay a little close on the Ray. Can we have that angle for the routine? 9.925.

Thomas UB: Beautiful maloney to pak, excellent VL. Double layout with a small hop back. 9.925.

Wong UB: great maloney to pak really clean and floaty, great handstand, beautiful VL. Stuck DLO. In replay we can see that the handstand on the high bar was loose. 9.90.

Clark VT: Nice full with a small hop. 9.775.

Edwards VT: Really big full with a really big hop. 9.825.

Richards VT: 1.5 a little under rotated again this week, but looking good in the air. 9.875.

DiCello VT: For her second time competing the 1.5 in NCAA, she looks really great. Almost gets the stick, slightly under rotated. 9.850.

Wong VT: Big Pod but large hop back. 9.800.

Thomas VT: Great 1.5 with small hop forward. 9.900.

Thomas gets a 9.90, which feels very right for a great vault with a 0.1 hop. 49.250 is not bad for vault at the first away meet.

DiCello FX: Front double full with a cross step out of it. Great leaps. 1.5 to front full looked nice. 9.800.

Nguyen FX: Great front double full to sissone. Stunning leaps. Always love the Y-turn. 1.5 to front lay with a tiny stutter step. 9.850.

Baumann is BACK FX: Wolf turn is very clean. 1.5 to front full covered the landing with dance. Kathy seems to think she stepped over but I didn't see it. Great straddle leaps. A tiny bit short and a step forward on double pike. 9.825.

Wong FX: Low on Dos Santos a little under rotated and no stag jump. Leaps are good, but not her strongest. Really nice on the combo pass to finish though. 9.875.

Thomas FX: Nice double lay as ALWYS. Great leap amplitude. Absolutely perfect landing on that front lay. Gorgeous as always. 9.950.

Hurd FX: Front lay front full nice. Her first ring is great but she trips a bit into the switch ring half and so she throws her other leap to not lose the bonus. Double pike a little short and moves forward.

49.300 for Florida on floor. Not their best, but certainly good for an away meet. They looked less clean and sharp, but a good third meet.

Blakely BB: Gorgeous front aerial to back handspring. Great switch to switch half to beat. Balance check on the full turn. Hop back on the gainer full off the side. 9.800.

Lazzari BB: Clean triple series. Seems to almost lose her foot on the switch leap settles in the connection, balance check after split jump. Full turn is okay. Bhs to 1.5 stuck. 9.850.

Nguyen BB: Beautiful mount. Onodi back handspring. Y turn right into the single turn. SO pretty. Nice leaps. Back handspring to 1.5 with a hop forward. GREAT. 9.825.

DiCello BB: Candle mount. Clean double wolf turn. Excellent leaps. Good series. Really strong front aerial. Almost sticks the back handspring to the gainer 1.5. 9.925.

Wong BB: Stunning leap series. Floaty series. Clean turn. Wow that front aerial to beat jump. Small hop and then a college stick into the salute. 9.875.

Thomas BB: Swings her arm around on switch leap mount. Good leap series and full turn. Perfect series. And this week she NAILS the front aerial to two feet. Side aerial to 1.5 hop to the side and a little stutter. 9.875.

All in all, it was not Florida's max score by any means. They left a lot out there on landings and will certainly have things to clean up. But, they are leaving Alabama with a win and I'm sure some fire going into next week.
