Samantha Marshall is a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. with a diverse set of experience in various fields. After receiving her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in 2018, she spent three years at Columbia University Medical Center as a Postdoctoral Researcher in Orthopedic Surgery.

In 2020, Dr. Sam turned her attention to science policy and worked with NYC Council candidates as a part of the Sci4NY initiative. Dr. Sam was a member of the 2021-2023 class of AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellows placed at the U.S. Department of State. She is now a Technical Advisor at the U.S. Department of State.

Due to her expertise in gymnastics commentary, Dr. Sam also supports coverage of the University of Florida and Long Island University gymnastics teams. Since 2019, she has been the main correspondent for women’s gymnastics for Alligator Army. In 2023, Dr. Sam began on air commentary for NCAA gymnastics.

A talented dancer and leader, she has served on the board of the Extreme Dance Company and Assemble Ballet Company at the University of Florida and Dance Haven at Columbia University Medical Center. She has also choreographed more than twenty works.
